I try to make a difference — in business and in life. My aspiration is to always maximise learning in everything I do and to translate what I learned into achieving better outcomes.
What drives me forward is my passion for learning, technology, mastery, and creating real customer and business value. I get a lot of energy also from helping people and organisations grow, from creating products that customers love, and from accelerating organisational and team performance.
Outside of work, I keep my brain busy with things like:
Effective Altruism — mainly longtermism, existential risks, AI, and global health
Philosophy — mainly consequentialism/utilitarianism, theory of mind, free will
Rationality — mainly decision theory, cognitive biases
Ethics — mainly suffering-focused ethics, applied ethics, ethical implications of technology, free speech
I have too many heroes to list here, but some of the key people I have been learning from the most are Peter Singer, Bertrand Russell, John Rawls, William MacAskill, Richard Dawkins, John Stuart Mill, Nick Bostrom, Christopher Hitchens, Toby Ord and Charlie Munger.
Life is not only about work and philosophy though so when I can I enjoy woodworking and cabinetmaking, photography, traveling, running, cycling, typography, and watches.
